FlowBus is a Message Oriented Middleware built upon the Tuxedo OLTP engine. FlowBus is a message passing communication software that allows enterprise-wide multi-platforms & multi-vendors application interoperability with built-in message-flow monitoring.
Main Features :
inter-application communication software that insures message passing between applications
de-coupling of infrastructures from applications and de-coupling applications from each other
according to business rules-based fed into a central repository, brokerage of messages between applications in a synchronous or asynchronous mode
cross-platform and cross-application interoperability in a heterogeneous GCOS & Bull Unix environment
standardized API extension of X/OPEN ( DTP ) XATMI
Message transformation or open framework for third party message translator software.
FlowBus: is the key architectural cornerstone for opening up GCOS based Information Systems in the perspective of EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) solutions' implementation.

FlowBus is a Message Oriented Middleware (MOM) product whose server component runs on AIX and Tuxedo, and whose clients run on virtually any platform. FlowBus benefits from the distinctive functions provided by Tuxedo :
- transactional inter-application cooperation for synchronous exchanges,
- secure queue management (/Q option) for asynchronous exchanges,
- modularity, because the Tuxedo system can be distributed over several UNIX platforms,
- administration facilities.
Interoperability FlowBus - MQ Series
Many GCOS 8 customers are equipped both with Bull and IBM mainframes, and are thus requesting cooperation between FlowBus and the most pervasive MOM solution in IBM world , i.e. MQ Series. In order to protect the GCOS 8 base, mostly on SPR basis, FlowBus
- MQ Series gateways have installed by few customers.
